The village is situated in the heart of La Chautagne, a vineyard region. It overhangs the Rhône valley between Seyssel and Rupieux and faces Le Colombier.

The Auberge is a charming restored farm house. It is a stopover on the way to Santiago de Compostela and an ideal starting point to many pedestrian paths including the famous Chemin du Terroir.

3 kilometres from the Auberge, the « Sport et Nature du Fier » centre offers outdoor activities such as a roller skating park, a speed ring, an ornithological path and supervised bathing (according to the season).

The Auberge de Motz is located in the heart of the village. It is erected between the church, the town hall, the local school and the bread oven.

Motor bikes, cars, coaches and camping cars can park without problem.
